Dr. Elissa McCollor joined the Veterinary Medical Center of Spring family as Medical Director in January of 2020. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and is a 2002 graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Dr. McCollor spent a year in Atlanta where she completed a small animal rotating internship prior to moving to Houston. She completed her education in 2005, receiving her MBA from Texas A&M University. Dr. McCollor is dedicated to providing high quality veterinary care to all of her patients and has special interest in internal medicine, dermatology and ophthalmology. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Clay, and five wonderful children, traveling and golfing whenever possible. Their family is completed by their whippet named Indy.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Dr. Jones graduated from Texas A&M with a bachelor’s and master’s in animal behavior. She has interned and worked at the Dallas Zoo, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, Houston Zoo, Sunset Zoo in Manhattan, Kansas, Wildlife Safari in Oregon, Dolphin Discovery in St. Kitts, and Wildlifevets.com in South Africa. She is passionate about surgery, animal behavior, emergency medicine, and exotic companion animal medicine including rabbits, reptiles and snakes, hamsters, birds, and more! In her free time she enjoys traveling: she’s been to 39 states, 8 countries and counting.
